Acid Jazz

Jazz is an instrument which has gained historical importance since decades and is preferred by most of all people even now. It is a famous art which originated in New Orleans by the year 1920. This period is known as the golden era or the jazz era. It was during this time the common people started to get crazy about music. It was during this time different types of music started to originate. Meanwhile many musicians and larger band forms also started establishing themselves. This period is well noted time in the music history as it was in this period people started recognizing the significance of music and jazz was known to be the famous and most loved instrument.

Acid jazz is defined as the music genre that unites elements of funk, disco, soul music and harmonious tunes into a single tune. Another name which is commonly given for acid jazz from the past itself is club jazz. Even though the name is acid jazz there occurs only a slight influence of jazz beats. In all, acid jazz can be known as a mixture of all music tones. There is no such peculiar definition that can be given for acid jazz.

It gained its importance from the year 1950 and was on its peak of fame through out the 60s and 70s. Later on from then the significance of acid jazz started to reduce as many other forms of music came into being which were preferred over these jazz.

The name acid jazz was coined by a great personality whose name is Gilles Peterson. This occurred accidentally when a DJ showed him a new record of the acid house which was in peak fame that was just released into the public. When the DJ showed him the acid house, Peterson’s reply was “if that is Acid House then this is Acid Jazz”.

Many individuals prefer to learn jazz due to many reasons. The reasons might be different. Mostly the solo reason would be that they love jazz, but learning jazz needs a lot of self involvement and commitment. Firstly the person need to recognize whether they opted for the study due to what reason and also the whether they have passion for jazz.  Secondly they have to decide whether they need to study it just for the name sake or as part of their passion for music. Deciding all these before opting for study might help them in achieving their goal.
