Jazz

Jazz is profound blend of culture that subtends to two several artistic branches such as musical and dance. The jazz’s culture has been highly influenced by region and thus produced various flavors in both jazz songs and jazz dances. A notable thing about jazz culture is that it relied heavily on what jazz experts call ‘call and response’ technique. This ‘call and response’ feature of jazz culture has its roots in early African culture upon which their melodies and movements were used in celebrations to call respond to fellow Africans. Jazz has been born with such profundity that only few artistic cultures dared to rival.

As a musical, jazz has grown over the century and has proven itself to be adaptive and receptive to musical change for jazz has a strong musical foundation fortified by years of evolution. The musical jazz culture hit the scene and left its audience awestricken every time it evolves. Indeed, evolution was one of musical jazz’s strength, for it survived the ever-changing musical tastes of the many, but never failed to exemplify what jazz music really is. The connection made by jazz music is profound and deep, as it touches everyone’s soul.

As a dance culture, jazz has never left the scene since its inception. With raging notes to dance with, jazz dancers created new flows and established that jazziness that marked history in the field of dancing. Even though other dance cultures have risen, jazz never faded nor was it shunned off stage. Jazz dances are a remarkable display of call and response methods create a special bond between people. With jazz music’s improvisation, jazz dance also bore that adaptability that could transcend through ages.

Modern jazz has become the commercial repository of talent and artistry. Commercial radio stations that feature the format ’smooth jazz’ lead the progeny of the such talents, and of course, of the culture itself. Modernization leads to improvisation, as in such, modernization is an advantage to jazz. But it is did not go unscathed and un-criticized. Some jazz purists have claimed that modern or smooth jazz is bland and rather distasteful, but its popularity says and continues to say otherwise.

Jazz’s future is definitely a bright one. As an artistic culture, jazz has yet to be rivaled in both archaic and modern arena. Jazz’s survival is inherent with its improvisation feature and will continue to appear as an undying artistry which quickly evolves and catch popular posts in both music and dance.
